HARDY 6’6” Sovereign Rod & Marquis #5 Trout Fly Reel. Lovely Stream Outfit

Selling this lovely House of Hardy (Alnwick) brook fishing outfit. Hardy’s are the renowned fishing tackle manufacturers who made the finest tackle available for many years.
This set comprises of a beautiful 6 foot 6 inch Sovereign rod which is very little used and showing virtually no signs of use. It is totally original and comes supplied in its original burgundy red cloth rod bag. A delightful rod to own and use.
The reel is a Hardy Marquis #5 (3” in diameter) Fly reel which matches the rod perfectly. The reel has some paint loss on the underside and appears to have had some resin type material applied to the frame as can be seen in the photos. This is a minor cosmetic mark and does not detract from the operation or use of the reel. On inspection there are no signs of a crack or from the inside there is no damage, it would seem the attention it has had is very superficial. It would benefit from a lick of paint but I have left it as is to be transparent. The handle on the reel is stiff and would benefit from some oil. In spite of these faults the reel matches the rod very well indeed and makes a very sweet little river outfit.
